Willa Cather

Willa Cather (Born December 7, 1873 in Virginia; Died April 24, 1947 in New York) was one of the preeminent female American authors. Her works include:
  • Alexander's Bridge - (1912)
  • The Song of the Lark - (1915)
  • O Pioneers - (1917)
  • My Àntonia - (1918)
  • One of Ours - (1922)
  • Death Comes for the Archbishop - (1927)

She won the Pulitzer Prize in 1923 for her book One of Ours (1922) and for her 1927 book, Death Comes for the Archbishop, in 2001 the book would be named as one of the 100 best English-language novels of the 20th century by the editorial board of the American Modern Library.
