Weedle (Biidoru in Romaji Japanese) is a basic bug-type Pokémon that evolves into Kakuna at level 7 and Beedrill at level 10. Weedle is most commonly found in forests and hiding in grass and bushes, eating leaves; when attacked, it will defend itself with the help of a two inch poison stinger on the top of its head.

Name Origin

Weedle's name is probably a combination of "Worm" and "Needle." Its Japanese name, Biidoru, will be researched and posted.

Availability

In Pokémon Red/Blue, Weedle can be found in the Viridian Forest. In Pokémon Yellow, Weedle must be obtained by trading from another cartridge. In Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal, Weedle can be found in the National Forest and - in Silver/Crystal - in Ilex Forest. In Pokémon Sapphir/Ruby, Weedle is not available at all.

Strengths / Weaknesses

Weedle is vulnerable to Fire, Flying, Psychic, Rock and - in Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow - Bug, and strong against Grass, Fighting and - in Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal - Poison and Bug.
