Voice (phonetics)In phonetics, voice is a quality of certain sounds. A voiced sound is one produced with resonance of the vocal cords; these are used in the pronunciation of vowels and certain consonants. Those without are termed voiceless or unvoiced.In English, r, m, z, and all vowels are examples of voiced segments. Voiceless segments include t, s, and f. In English they tend to go in pairs, for example t and d, b and p.
