Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited, usually referred to as Virgin Atlantic, is a British airline first founded in the mid 1980s by Sir Richard Branson utilizing a single Boeing 747 on scheduled service between London and New York. Now consisting of a large number of widebody aircraft servicing long-haul markets around the globe, Virgin Atlantic is the flagship organization under the Virgin brand, and competes with British Airways for the title of "most prestigious airline" based in London.

VS is the IATA Designator of the airline, which flies to the United States, the Caribbean, Africa, India, and Asia
