Van Morrison

Van Morrison (b. August 31 1945) is the stage name of George Ivan Morrison, an Irish Rock 'n' Roller and exponent of the so-called Belfast Blues.

He initially came to prominence as a result of fronting the band, Them, which he formed and with whom he had a number of chart successes. After splitting from the band, he pursued a successful and idiosyncratic solo musical career. Brown-Eyed Girl is probably his best-known song.

In 1990 he joined many other guests for Roger Waters' massive performance of The Wall in Berlin.
