USS Tennessee

Four ships of the United States Navy (and two ships of the Confederate States Navy) have been named USS Tennessee in honor of the 16th state.

The first USS Tennessee was a wooden screw frigate built as Madawaska.

The second USS Tennessee (ACR-10) was the lead ship of her class of armored cruiser.

The third USS Tennessee (BB-43) was the lead ship of her class of battleship.

The fourth USS Tennessee (SSBN-734) is an Ohio-class submarine.
