UmtataUmtata, a small town in the Eastern Province of South Africa, formerly the capital of the Republic of Transkei. The town was founded in 1869 by its first Chief Constable, Richard Calverley. The Calverley family arrived as part of the British immigration plan with the 1820 Settlers in Port Elizabeth. |
