Truth condition

In semantics, truth conditions are the circumstances that must be known to determine whether a sentence is true. Therefore truth conditions are part of the meaning of declarative sentences.

An entire sentence may be true even if one or more of its parts are false, and vice versa.

Sometimes knowing the truth of one sentence entails the truth of another sentence.
