Tezpur, Assam

The beautiful ancient town on the northern banks of the mighty river Brahmaputra flowing thought the Assam valley is Tezpur. Currently it is the head quarters of the Sonitpur district of Assam.

There are lots of temples and ancient ruins from almost two thousand years ago in this area. The Kaliabhomora Setu is the longest bridge across the river and spans a total of 3.015meters. It was opened in the mid 80's and had become a tourist attraction by itself.

It has its own airfiled nearby (Salonibari) which is also a major Air Force base in this part of India.
