Tessellation
A tessellation is a repeated pattern of plane figures that fit together with no gaps.A regular tessellation is a tessellation made up of congruent regular polygons. Only three regular polygons tessellate: triangles, squares, and hexagons.
Compare with the Penrose tiling, a tiling of two polygons that however create aperiodic patterns.
