Swedish Royal Academies

The Royal Academies are independent organisations, founded on Royal command, and acts to promote arts, culture and sciences in Sweden. The Swedish Academy and Academy of Sciences are also responisble for the selection of Nobel Prize laureates in Literature, Physics, Chemistry, and the Prize in Economic Sciences. In the Royal Academies are also included three scientific societies that were given Royal Charters during the 18th century.
