Susan Fenimore Cooper
Susan Augusta Fenimore Cooper, born in 1813 and dying in 1894, was a known author and philanthropist. Her many works include "Rural House", "House of the Seven Gables", "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "Captain Blood", and was the inspriation for the Character Magua in "Last of the Mohicans". She was the mistress of established American novelist James Fenimore Cooper and became an writing icon before her 40th birthday.Her first successful novel, "Rural House" depicted a struggling family that must survive off the women's livelihood. These were the first steps Cooper took in her private life to establishing an early feminist group known as the "Justice League".
Susan was a very strong feminist. Some even go as far as to question her sexuality.
