Spyder-D

Spyder D was a classic "old school" rapper from New York City who combined elements of jazz and funk in his live instrumental backing tracks. Big Apple Rappin was perhaps his most famous 12-inch LP, released in 1981.

There were a number of others from the early 1980s as well, all of which revealed a laid back attitude, humor, and killer skills on the microphone. He released a full length album in 2000 entitled True Dat, which didn't earn nearly the acclaim that his early work did.
