Social Distortion

While perhaps not being awarded the same level of respect as other punk bands like The Circle Jerks and Black Flag, Social Distortion has nontheless had lasting power. From their earlier, more hardcore punk numbers like "1945" to later songs like "Bad Luck" (which was featured on MTV), this band has shown consitently solid musical skills.

Finally in 1986, Mike Ness signed a contract to let Chris Reece and John Maurer to be in the band after the replace of Brent Liles and Derek O'Brien when the band recorded Prison Bound in 1987.

The band signed to Epic Records in 1989 to record Social Distortion which was released in 1990.
