Siegfried Line

There were two Siegfried lines, both situated on border between France and Germany. They were lines of defensive forts and tank defences built by the Germans.

The first was built in 1916-1917, during the First World War. The second was built during the 1930s, opposite the French Maginot Line, which served the same purpose.
