Shannon Hoon

Shannon Hoon (September 26, 1967 - October 21, 1995) was the lead singer of the band Blind Melon.

Born in Lafayette, Indiana, he moved to Los Angeles in 1990 and formed Blind Melon with Glen Graham, Brad Smith, Rogers Stevens, and Christopher Thorn. After the release of the Blind Melon album in 1992, he was arrested on drug charges and was in various rehab clinics for the next three years. Despite the birth of his daughter, and a tour to support Blind Melon's second album Soup, Hoon relapsed into drug use and died of an overdose on October 21, 1995.
