Secret AgentSecret Agent is a 1936 British film directed by Alfred Hitchcock based on a novel by W. Somerset Maugham. The film starred John Gielgud, Peter Lorre, Madeleine Carroll and Robert YoungGielgud plays a British officer in World War I who is sent to Switzerland on a secret mission. Carroll plays a woman who pretends to be his wife. They meet Lorre who is their contact in Switzerland.
