Royal Academy of Music

The Royal Academy of Music was founded by Lord Burghersh in 1822 in London, England. In 1830, a Royal Charter was given by King George IV.

Past students include Arthur Sullivan, Henry Wood, Hugh Marchant, Devika Rani, David Martin, Harrison Birtwistle, John Barbirolli, Simon Rattle.

In 1999 the Academy became a full member of the largest British university: the University of London.
