River Oaks

River Oaks is a "prestigous" neighborhood community in Houston, Texas. River Oaks boasts many residents from among wealthy and famous Texans, including former presidents, ex-astronauts, oil buccaneers, and insurance businessmen.

The community includes the River Oaks Country Club.

Many of the children in River Oaks are enrolled in Annunciation Orthodox or other private schools. The Houston Independent School District has River Oaks zoned to River Oaks Elementary, Sidney Lanier Middle School, and Mirabeau B. Lamar High School.

While crimes are rare in this exclusive community, the Doris Angleton murder became well known.
