Richard Thomas
Richard Thomas (born
June 13,
1951) is an
American actor.
Born in New York City, Thomas began his acting career in daytime television. He appeared in soap operas such as The Edge of Night and As the World Turns, which were broadcast from his native Manhattan.
Thomas received his first major roles in film, appearing in the motion pictures Winning (1969) with Paul Newman, about auto racing, and Last Summer with Barbara Hershey, a summer romance picture.
He is probably best known as "John Boy" in the 1970s television program "The Waltons."
Richard Thomas has also worked on the stage in live theater.
