Porter (carrying)

Porters were used extensively in the ancient period as "beasts of burden". In ancient Sumer, women were enslaved to carry wool and flax. Porters are still carrying things in many third-world countries.

The term porter is sometimes used to refer to airport or hotel employees but generally refers to slave labor.
