Pedro Rosselló

Dr. Pedro J. Rosselló is a former Governor of Puerto Rico. He held that position from 1993 to 2001. Rosselló was the President of the New Progressive Party from 1991 to 1999. He was also President of The Council Of State Governments as well as Chairman of the Southern Governors Association. Rosselló is also a former pediatric surgeon. Rosselló resided in New York, where he taught at Cambridge University. He is the uncle of Roy Rosselló.

While governor, Rosselló concentrated on trying to bring international companies to invest in Puerto Rico and fighting crime. Rosselló also became a campaigner for the cause of the island of Vieques. Once, at a press conference, he dressed up like Pedro Navaja.

In 2004 he again will run for the post of Governor.
