Paul Arizin

Paul Arizin (1928 - ) is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: he is one of that city's greatest basketball legends, and was a high scoring forward at Villanova University before being drafted by the Philadelphia Warriors of the then-new NBA.

Arizin was league scoring champion and one of the greatest NBA players of the 1950's. He became famous for his line-drive jump shots, and teamed with center Neil Johnston to form the best offensive one-two punch in the NBA at the time. He played with scoring star Joe Fulks early in his career, and with Philadelphia legends Tom Gola and Wilt Chamberlain toward the end in the early 1960's. Arizin chose to retire rather move with the Warriors to San Francisco. He is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame.
