Patriots' Day

Patriots' Day (often spelled without the apostrophe) is a holiday in the states of Massachusetts and Maine commemorating the Battle of Lexington and Concord in April 1775, which is generally considered to be the beginning of the American Revolutionary War.

Patriots' Day is April 19, although in recent years it has generally been observed on the Monday nearest that date, to provide a three-day weekend. The date on which Patriots' Day is observed is always the date of the Boston Marathon.

Patriots' Day or la Fête des Patriotes is the official name of Victoria Day in Quebec, in honour of the Patriotes Rebellion.
