National Historic Site

National Historic Site is a designation for a protected area in the United States that contains a single historical feature directly related to its subject. Some National Historic Sites have been so designated by the Secretary of the Interior but most have been authorized by Congress.

National Historic Sites are authorized by the Historic Sites Act of 1935.
