Nasogastric tube

A nasogastric tube is a usually plastic tube, passed through the nose, into the throat, down the oesophagus and into the stomach.

Nasogastric tubes are usually used for either drainage of the stomach or for feeding. They were used for force feeding as a result of the Cat and Mouse Act.
