Morning glory

Morning glory is one of several climbing plants of the following species, all belonging to the Convolvulaceae:
  • Ipomoea purpurea: common morning glory or field bindweed
  • Ipomoea arborescens: tree morning glory
  • Ipomoea tricolor
  • Ipomoea violacea
  • Calystegia stebbinsii: Stebbins' morning glory
  • Convolvulus althaeoides
  • Merremia aurea: yellow morning glory

The seeds of I. violacea contain an hallucinogenic substance similar to LSD.
