Mike PowellWas born November 10th, 1963 and was a Track & Field athlete. At the 1991 World Championships (Tokio) he broke Bob Beamon's 23-year-old long jump world record by 5 cm (2 inches) leaping 8,95 mt. (29ft 4.5 in); Sullivan Award winner (1991); in 1988 and in 1992 he won long jump silver medals at Olympics; in 1993 he was again world champion. |
