Micmac

The Micmac (self-designation Mi'kmaq) are a native people indigenous to northeastern New England and Canada's Maritime. They have a population of about 20,000 of whom approximately one-third still speak the Algonquian Micmac language.

In the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, October is deemed Micmac History Month.
