Mairín Bean Uí Dhálaigh

Mairín Bean Uí Dhalaigh was a renounced twentieth century gaelic scholar. She served as First Lady of the Republic of Ireland, when her husband, former Attorney-General and Chief Justice Cearbhall Ó Dálaigh served as President of Ireland from 1974-1976. Following her husband's resignation in 1976 and his death in 1978, she was appointed to the president's advisory Council of State by his successor in the presidency, Patrick Hillery.

She died in the 1990s. The couple had no children.
