Maggie Smith

Dame Margaret Natalie Smith Cross (born December 28, 1934), better known as Maggie Smith, is a British film, stage, and television actress.

She was appointed a Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 1990 (see British honours system).

She has appeared in the following films:

Gosford Park, 2001, Countess Constance of Trentham
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, 2001, Professor McGonagall
A Room With a View, 1985, Charlotte Bartlett
Evil Under the Sun, 1982, Daphne Castle
Travels With My Aunt, 1972, Aunt Augusta
The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, 1969, Jean Brodie

She also played the title character in the stage production of Alan Bennett's Lady in the Van
