Broadcast Television Networks

  • The CBC, or the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. National network broadcasting both in English and French (SRC).
  • CTV, originally CTN (Canadian Television Network), an English national network.
  • Global, English network, national except for the territories and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Regional Broadcast Television Stations

  • Citytv, independent, Toronto with a sister station in Vancouver. Part of the CHUM Television network.
  • Omni and Omni 2, two television multicultural stations, Toronto.
  • CH, which consists of four local stations owned by Global.
  • A Channel, Prairie network, originally based in Portage-la-Prairie, Manitoba as the MTN (Manitoba Television Network). Also operates in Alberta. Owned by Craig Broadcast Systems.
  • TV Ontario, also known as TVO, operated by the government of Ontario, out of the Toronto area.
  • TVA, Quebec-based private French-language network.
  • TQS, Quebec-based private French-language network.
