Kevin Smith

Kevin Patrick Smith (b. 2 August 1970) is a screenwriter and film director, as well as a writer of comic books.

His movies are known for their distinctive vision and dialogue, though sometimes detracted for crude humour, limited attention to plot development, and technical amateurishness. Smith's films are often set in his home state of New Jersey and stuffed with pop culture references, particularly to the Star Wars movies. He appears in all of his movies as the rarely-speaking character Silent Bob.

He is also a noted comic book author doing stories for characters like Daredevil, The Green Arrow, and the Black Cat.

Smith owns and operates Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash, a Red Bank, NJ based store largely dedicated to merchandise related to his films.

The Phantom Edit, an edited version of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace is rumored to have been created by him. He denies this claim, although admits to having seen it.
