Kamal Hassan

Padma Sree Kamal Hassan, a South Indian actor, made a screen debut with the Tamil movie Kalathur Kannamma at the tender age of 5. He got his break with K. Balachander's Telugu hit Maro Charithra.

He played a plethora of characters ranging from a ventriloquist to a under-world don to a freedom-fighter to a classical dancer to a blind violinist to a dwarf clown to a mentally challenged man.

He is the winner of several Indian awards. He also received a couple of best actor awards at the Asian Film festival in 1983 and 1985 for Saagara Sangamam and Swathi Muthyam, respectively.

He also ventured into direction with Hey Ram.

His unfinished projects include Sandiyar and Maruda Naayagam.
