Intuition (MBTI)

One of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicators.

Opposite: Sensing

C.G. Jung wrote that sensing tells what is, thinking tells us what it is, feeling tells us what it's worth, and intuition tells us where it came from and where it's going. Intuition, as a perceiving mode of consciousness, filters experience through the unconscious mind. Intuition focuses on possibilities rather than realities.

It is listed in one's Myers-Briggs type as an N. The Intuition/Sensing dichotomy is listed as the second of the four characteristics that make up a type. Idealists share the combination NF, while Rationals share the combination NT.
