Henning Mankell

Henning Mankell was born on 3 February 1948. He is an internationally known Swedish author of crime fiction and other books, as well as plays. He is best known for the character Kurt Wallander.

Kurt Wallander series

Kurt Wallander is a fictional police inspector living and working in Ystad, Sweden. In the eight novels, he solves shocking murders with his colleagues. The novels have an underlying question: What went wrong with the Swedish society? The final book, Pyramiden, is a collection of short stories about Wallander's past.
