Haidinger's brushHaidinger's brush is a optical phenomenon first described by Austrian physicist Wilhelm Karl von Haidinger in 1846. Some people are able to perceive polarization of light. It is said to be visible as a yellowish horizontal line (with "fuzzy" ends, hence the name "brush") visible against the blue sky viewed while facing away from the sun.Some insects and fish are sensitive to polarized light.
