Gayatrimantra

The Gayatrimantra is a verse from a Vedic hymn. Supposedly, the head of a household is expected to repeat this verse (with the assistance of a brahmin), at least 2,400,000 times.

  • Tat Savitur Vernyum
  • Bhargo Devasya Dheemahe
  • Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat

In English:
  • The primordial creative sound
  • The three worlds: earth, atmosphere, and heaven
  • Adoration of the splendor that radiates from the Divine illumination
  • A prayer for liberation through the light of the universal intelligence
