Für Elise
Für Elise (German: for Elise) is a famous work of music for solo piano by Ludwig van Beethoven, written in 1808 as Bagatelle in A.
Beethoven originally titled his work "Für Therese", Therese being the daughter of the Vienna medical doctor Malfatti, and at the time the focus of Beethoven's attention. On printing, his famously illegible handwriting was misinterpreted as "Für Elise".
