Fever

Fever, also known as pyrexia, is the elevation of the body's temperature above the upper limit of normal, usually taken as 37.7°C.

Most fevers are caused by infections and almost all infectious diseases cause fever.

Drugs that reduce fever are known as antipyretics. A common antipyretic is paracetamol or acetaminophen.
