Edwin Scrymgeour

Edwin Scrymgeour (28 July 1866-1947), born in Dundee, also known as Neddy, was a Scottish MP for Dundee. He is the only prohibitionist ever to be elected to the House of Commons.

In the 1922 election, Scrymgeour and ED Morel, Labour, jointly ousted Winston Churchill, who had represented the city as a Coalition Liberal since 1908. Dundee, at that time, was a single constituency with two elected MPs.
