Dark Horse Comics

Dark Horse Comics is the third bastion of the American comic books industry, alongside Marvel and DC Comics. It was founded in 1986 by Mike Richardson. Its logo is a chess piece shaped like a horse's head.

Dark Horse comics include spinoffs from Alien, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (see Joss Whedon's Fray), Predator, Star Wars, and The Terminator, as well as original series such as Barb Wire, Concrete, Hellboy, The Mask, and Usagi Yojimbo.

They also distribute translations of various Japanese comic books, including Ghost in the Shell, Oh My Goddess, Bubblegum Crisis, Astro Boy, and Digimon.
