Coyoacán ("Place of the coyotes in Nahuatl) is a southern part of Mexico City. It was a town of its own until about 1950, when it was swallowed by the agglomeration of Mexico City. Around the busy Plaza Hidalgo, the main square it is a higher-middle-class suburb. It was home to Frida Kahlo and Leon Trotsky, both houses are now museums. It can be reached by metro line 3.
