Caucus
Caucus is a meeting of local members of a political party or subgroup to nominate candidates, plan policy, etc., in the Congress of the United States, the Canadian Parliament, and other similar representative organs of government. It is a word of North American origin, probably from the Algonquin word for 'counsel', cau´-cau-as´u. In the Westminster Parliament and other similar representative organs of government, the function is served by a parliamentary party. This article is a stub. You can help Wikipedia by fixing it.
