Canned Heat

Canned Heat was a blues-rock band in the 1960s. Their debut album was released not long after their appearance at the Monterey Pop Festival. Their second album, Boogie with Canned Heat was more successful, and included collaborations with John Lee Hooker. After "Goin' up the Country" and "Let's Work Together" became major hits, band-member Alan Wilson died, probably due to drug problems. The band continued touring for a time, but was never able to play to more than a small but devoted audience.
