Caber toss

The Caber toss is an athletic event involving the tossing of the caber, a large wooden pole.

The objective is to toss, or throw, the caber for the longest distance, by balancing it between the athlete's arms and tossing it forward after running and gaining momentum to force the caber to flip forward.

The game originated in Scotland some hundreds of years ago, and is a regular fixture at Highland Games.
