Brianna LaHara

Brianna LaHara is a 12-year old girl from New York who was sued by the Recording Industry Association of America on September 8, 2003 for allegedly downloading music from the Internet which led to massive public outcry against the RIAA's heavy-handed tactics.

Amidst bad publicity the RIAA agreed to settle for $2,000.

The P2P trade group P2P United agreed to reimburse Brianna and her mother.

Grokster CEO Wayne Rosso and lifestyle website http://www.hypothermia.us also offered to help Brianna by paying her settlement while online music retailer http://www.MusicRebellion.com gave Brianna $2,000 of free music downloads.
