Black Lodge

Aleister Crowley, the famous occultist, claimed that he was a member of the Great White Lodge, and that a society called The Black Lodge was secretly working to conquer the human race.

The White Lodge, which includes the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and the Ordo Templi Orientis, claim that they are directed at the propogation of Love and Light in the universe, and, at the moment, are concentrated on the liberation of the human species from bondage, which they relate to Darkness.

The Black Lodge could easily be compared to the Illuminati referred to so often by conspiracy theorists. Though the White Lodge includes a society called The Illuminati, it behaves more like the Justified Ancients of Mu Mu in Robert Anton Wilson's famous novel, 'Illuminatus', than the Illuminati--at least according to what little it is possible to know of them.
