Band

In radio communications, a band is a small spectrum of frequencies, usually used for the same purpose, such as the aircraft band (108~136MHz), FM broadcast band (88~108MHz), upper VHF TV band (174~216MHz in the Americas), and the L band (1452~1492MHz) for digital radio (DAB) outside the U.S


A band is a strip of material in a loop, used for binding. Types of bands:


A band is a group of musicians playing parts of a musical arrangement on different musical instruments. See musical band.

In a similar sense, a band can also refer to a group of people who are bound together by a common cause, especially if it is one not officially sanctioned by authority. eg. 'band' of pirates or brigands, 'band' of rebels, 'robber band'.


A band can be a "broad" line or curve.
