Auburn

Auburn is the name of some places in the United States of America: Other places called Auburn: Other places whose names include Auburn: Most of these towns are named from Oliver Goldsmith's popular 18th century poem, "The Deserted Village", which begins:
Sweet Auburn! loveliest village of the plain,
Where health and plenty cheered the labouring swain
Where smiling spring its earliest visit paid,
And parting summer's lingering blooms delayed

The poem was about the village Athlone, Ireland, Goldsmith's childhood home. He lived in Lissoy Parsonage, which was also called Auburn.
